Alanah dobinson | Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Hons)|AEP AES ESSAM
Alanah Dobinson is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and has a passion for assisting those with mental health and eating disorders to engage in safe, healthful exercise. Alanah is passionate about assisting clients to maximise their health and optimise their functional ability, in medically and psychologically appropriate ways. Alanah has completed specialised training in both Maudlsey Family Based Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders. She is an invited writer and presenter for Exercise and Sports Science Australia, The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Education in Nutrition and the Queensland Academy of Sport on the topic of safe exercise and non-abstinence during recovery from an eating disorder. Finally, she has presented at annual conferences for both the international Academy for Eating Disorders as well as the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.
MArita COOPEr | PhD Clinical Psychology
Marita Cooper is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Eating Disorders Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received her PhD from Australian National University where her dissertation examined muscle dysmorphia and muscularity-oriented body change behaviours. Marita was an Eating Disorders Clinical Research Summer Fellow at Harvard University in 2017 and is an active committee member for both the Academy for Eating Disorders and the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders. Marita serves on the editorial board for the International Journal for Eating Disorders and Journal of Eating Disorders: Treatment and Prevention. Marita has recently presented research on both muscularity-oriented eating and exercise in eating disorders at conferences for both the Academy for Eating Disorders and the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.
Danika Quesnel | MSc, CSEP-CPT
Danika obtained a degree in Kinesiology / Human Kinetics with a speciality in Health Promotion and a certification in Personal Training for the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. Following this, she completed her Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies between Health Sciences and Psychology at the University of British Columbia, in which her research focused on the role of exercise in the treatment of eating disorders. Following this, she completed her Master’s in Science ( Clinical Psychology) at Western University where she focused on research in how to implement trainings to help clinicians manage exercise and eating disorders. Since the completion of her degrees, Danika has contributed peer review publications to the field of exercise and eating disorders, perfectionism, body image and problematic internet use. Danika has presented as guest speaker, as well as achieved national recognition for her contributions to the field of exercise and eating disorder. She is currently undertaking her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Toronto.
